Flowers
on the West Coast

Today we went to Postberg in the West Coast National Park. This
part of the park is close during the year and only opens during
flowering season. It is open from 1 August and closes again at
the end of September. If it is your first time you go there, take
your picnic basket with. In the park you are not allowed to get
out of your vehicle but on top of Postberg there is a picnic area
on the Saldanha side of the hill. (S-33.1072 - E-18.0055). You
can enjoy a picnic here between the flowers. There is also a small
trail you can follow and photograph all the flowers from up close.
Most of the flowers that you can see while driving around are
seen on this hill at the picnic area.
Another tip,
just before you enter the gate at Postberg, 200 m back to the
left, is a curio shop where you can buy brochures and books on
all the different flowers in the area.
