The Darling Music Experience

Lovers of excellent music, food and wine are once again in for a treat. The Darling Music Experience, under the artistic directorship of South Africa born German pianist Andreas Kern takes place in Darling. The music on offer varies between classical and contemporary chamber music, popular choir works and Jazz, bringing together community ensembles and soloists with well known national and international musicians.

You hear what you eat and you eat what you hear.

Andreas will interpret, on the piano, the essence of the dishes prepared by Judy. The recipes will be taken from Evita Bezuidenhout’s highly successful Kossie Sikelela cook book.

This is no ordinary concert in an extraordinary venue. It will be performed by classical pianists Andreas Kern and Tertia Visser in the form of a duel on two Grand Pianos.

Will Tertia succeed to take revenge on Andreas for last year’s defeat? You the audience will be the jury. Enjoy an evening of fine classical music with a twinkle.

The DME has again commissioned a piece of classical music, this year by the young composer Christo Jankowitz who will also perform on the piano.

SONGS OF JOY

As a final highlight of the festival Robert Brooks, South African tenor with an international career, wil, accompanied by Gisela de Villiers, sing Lider by Beethoven, Schubert and Schumann – Irish and Afrikaans Folk Songs – Tangos by Carlos Gardel – Popular Light Classics from Film and Musical.
