Novices can learn Kitesurfing in almost all of the different regions of South-Africa, providing that the wind blows, and that there is water to practice on of course!

What are favorable conditions to learn to Kite surf in South-Africa?

The wind is the first factor to take into consideration to learn to kite surf safely: a consistent wind between 12 and 16 knots make learning to kite surf enjoyable and safe. The size of the kite to be used would then have to be determined by taking into consideration the weight of the learner. The orientation of the wind should be any component of onshore wind, preferably cross-onshore. Then, the temperature of the water is also an important factor to make learn to kite surf enjoyable: preferably warm than cold as we are not penguins!
