2009 – Darling Flowers

This weekend (Sept 2009) we explored Darling’s flowers. We did not drive straight to Darling like we usually do. We went down (from Langebaan) the R27 and at Grotto Bay turned left on the gravel road. This is a lovely road to drive. The scenery are totally different from the usual West Coast scenery. ¬†There are lovely flowers on this route.

The road meets the Darling/Mamre road (R307) about 10km from Darling. There you turn left towards Darling.

The most prominent flowers on this stretch of road are the Arum Lilies. I think this is the most of them I have ever seen.Watch movie online Rings (2017)

About 6Km from Darling, on the right side of the road, you will see a big sign indicating the Waylands Farm Reserve. This is open to the public and you can drive through the veld and enjoy the flowers.
